HVAC stands for Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning and sometimes is stated as HVAC&R where the “R” stands for Refrigerant. HVAC is the technology of providing indoor comfort and involves mechanical engineering, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and heat transfer.Central HeatingThere a variety of Heating technologies but the most common in our area is Central Heating. Central Heating involves a Boiler, Furnace or Heat Pump to heat water, steam or air in a central location.
Forced Air Systems
Send Heated Air through Ductwork but can also send cooled air. Additionally the air can be filtered to improve air quality.
Ventilation is the process of chaining air in any space to control or regulate the air for the intended application. This process can involve filtering and is an essential part of any Heating and Cooling System.
Mechanical or Forced Ventilation
Mechanical or Forced Ventilation uses Air Handlers to control Indoor Air Quality.
Air Conditioning is provided through the removal of heat. Heat can be removed through Radiation, Convection, and by Heat Pump Systems in a process called the Refrigeration Cycle.
